Working with our partners at Solihull College & University Centre, we conducted an Education Training Foundation ( ETF) sponsored project on Breaking Barriers to career advancement for BAME professionals seeking senior roles in higher and further education. Two of our senior consultants worked on this project, liaising with relevant stakeholders whilst ensuring that project outcomes were delivered both professionally and within agreed deadlines. The project outcomes resulted in policy recommendations for institutional and sectoral change. We take pride in supporting research and consultancy projects that address challenging business, social and environmental problems. Click on the link below to see the project's publicity:
We investigated the impact of a microfinance institution's financial and non-financial interventions on female empowerment across 5 states in Nigeria. This research project involved over 200 female entrepreneurs operating largely commercial trading activities. the study unravels institutional and cultural challenges constraining female entrepreneurship and empowerment.
An excerpt of the study's recommendations is presented below:
The research indicated that a combination of microcredit and training was vital in improving female entrepreneurial development and empowerment, and this has policy implications for MFIs, donor agencies and governments whose strategy for economic growth is hinged on microenterprise development and financial inclusion of the unbanked members of society. The study noted that it is vital for these bodies/institutions to appreciate the importance of entrepreneurial training in nurturing and building female capacity for enterprise growth. The findings of this study did demonstrate that it is viable for MFI’s in Nigeria to provide entrepreneurial training to their Female clients. In addition, the group lending approach ensures that such training is easily organised with higher levels of attendance.
the concise answer is that researchers ought to embrace a pragmatic approach. This involves maintaining an open-minded perspective when contemplating research methods and prioritizing the research aim and objective in decision-making. Generally, the research method should serve as a means to help the researcher attain the aims and objectives of the research. Therefore, the crucial question shifts to determining which research method would effectively fulfill the research aims. Once this method is identified, whether through an extensive review of existing literature or a comprehensive best-fit analysis, it becomes imperative to select the most suitable approach.
At Adgnizion we adopt a pragmatic approach for all our projects and only select research and evaluation methodology that achieve the aims and objectives of the projects.
